As we celebrate our tenth year as a magnet school, the Sustainability Academy invites the S.A. community to join us at this event to celebrate and learn more about pathways to sustainability. Through interactive stations organized by our teachers, students and community partners, guests will explore themes of social justice, environmental integrity and economic vitality.
There will be food and a free raffle, too!
Our last Wednesday Morning Meeting will be a Celebration of Learning & Partner Appreciation. At the Sustainability Academy we understand that educating our children is a collaborative effort and we are grateful that we have partners and volunteers who support the teaching and learning on a regular basis.
Our students will be sharing a slideshow highlighting some of this year’s special events and partnerships.
We look forward to personally expressing our gratitude to our generous partners and volunteers.

There are currently three elementary principal positions that are either open or anticipated to be open. These positions are at Champlain Elementary, Integrated Arts Academy, and the Sustainability Academy. The school district is taking a proactive approach to hiring these positions, and we are moving forward preparing for the possibility that all three positions will be open and will need to be filled for the upcoming school year.
A Search Advisory Team (SAT) comprised of representatives from various roles within the District and each of the three schools will lead a combined search for these positions. The team will review application materials and conduct interviews with qualified candidates, and will select some of these candidates to move onto the next round of the process: Staff and Community Forums. After the forums, the SAT will reconvene and present a final list of candidates for consideration to the Superintendent. Final hiring decisions and assignments are ultimately made by the Superintendent, who then assumes the greatest amount of accountability to the performance of these new hires.
